In August 2004 Rev. Stroud moved to Greenville to plant the Metropolitan Community Church of the Upstate (MCCU).On July 10, 2005, Rev. Stroud was officially installed as the Founding Pastor of MCCU.Rev. Stroud came to MCCU from the Metropolitan Community Church of Charlotte where she worked as Minister of Congregational Care while completing her clergy candidacy through UFMCC.Rev. Stroud graduated from Erskine Theological Seminary in 2002 with a Master of Divinity Degree.She served as Assistant to the Pastor at First MCC of Atlanta during 1999 while she served as a student chaplain for The Carpenter's House Shelter and earned a certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education at Grady Hospital.During her tenure at First MCC, Rev. Stroud was awarded the Reid L. Christensen Award of Excellence.Rev. She has been the Minister of Church Life at MCC-Charlotte since 2000.Prior to her being called to ministry, Reverend Stroud earned her B. S. degree in Personnel Management from Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina. Before moving to Charlotte, she was Assistant to the Pastor, Church Administrator and Worship Coordinator at First MCC of Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. While she was a member of First MCC, she received the distinguished Rev. Reid L. Christensen Excellence Award in 2000.
