In August 2004
Rev. Stroud moved to Greenville to plant the Metropolitan Community
Church of the Upstate (MCCU).On July 10, 2005,
Rev. Stroud was officially installed as the Founding Pastor of
MCCU.
Rev. Stroud came to MCCU from the Metropolitan Community
Church of Charlotte where she worked as Minister of Congregational Care while completing her clergy candidacy through UFMCC.
Rev. Stroud graduated from Erskine Theological Seminary in 2002 with a Master of Divinity Degree.
She served as Assistant to the Pastor at First MCC of Atlanta during 1999 while attending
Candler Theological Seminary at Emory University.While in Atlanta,
she served as a student chaplain for
The Carpenter's House Shelter and earned a certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education at
Grady Hospital.During
her tenure at First MCC,
Rev. Stroud was awarded the Reid L. Christensen Award of Excellence.
Rev. Stroud actively represents
MCCU in the Upstate community.
She is a member of P-Flag Spartanburg, and serves on the Board of Directors of
P-Flag Greenville.
