Flagstaff Medical Center nurse Donna Price, R.N., C.N.M., has been named "Nurse of the Year" by the March of Dimes in the category of Advancing the Profession.
Nurses from across Arizona were honored at last month's third annual March of Dimes Arizona Nurses of the Year Awards Gala presented by Health Net.Price
was nominated by her
peers because she
fosters ideas, arouses creativity and challenges the abilities of others.She
has a passion for nursing.She
listens, coaches and advocates that nurses work within their scope of practice and become a voice for the nursing profession.Additionally, she teaches nursing students at Northern Arizona University. Price has worked at FMC since 1984 in Obstetrics and Labor and Delivery as a registered nurse, certified nurse midwife, charge nurse and clinical coordinator.She earned her bachelors degree in nursing in 1983 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a degree in midwifery from the University of Philadelphia in 1999.Currently, Price is completing her masters degree while teaching at Northern Arizona University.
