GCI will honor exceptional women in the following categories: Major Contributor to the Arts: Donna Moog, President of the Trio Foundation of St. Louis.; Outstanding Arts Professional: Carol North; Artistic Director of Metro Theater Company; Successful Working Artist: Joan Lipkin, Founder and Artistic Director of That Uppity Theatre Company and The DisAbility Project; and Emerging Artist: Jenna Bauer, Founder of the South City Open Studio and Gallery for Children -- all chosen as women who are dedicated to advancing the arts in the St. Louis Community.
Major Contributor to the Arts, Donna Moog, has devoted much of her adult life to improving the community through involvement in nonprofit organizations.She has served on the boards of numerous agencies, including Craft Alliance, Paraquad, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, Loyola Academy and the Metropolitan Association for Philanthropy.Donna has also served as president of the boards of the Forum for Contemporary Art, now the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, and the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis.During her tenure as President of the Contemporary, she led the museum as it developed a strategic plan which included a $12 million capital campaign for its first permanent facility, and the selection of internationally-acclaimed architect Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works Architecture to design the 27,000 square foot building which opened in September 2003.As President of the Trio Foundation of St. Louis, Donna has lead efforts to donate to hundreds of nonprofits, including more than $1.8 million to arts and cultural organizations since the Foundation's inception in 1991.
