SACRAMENTO, CA - July 31, 2001 - Donald Kishi
, Pharm.D., FCSHP has been named the recipient of the 2001 California Society
of Health-System Pharmacists Distinguished Service Award.Dr. Kishi is a Clinical Professor, Step IV for the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at University of California, San Francisco.The award will be presented during the Opening Session of Seminar 2001, CSHP's Annual Meeting, on October 26, 2001 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.Dr. Kishi is the tenth CSHP member to receive the Distinguished Service Award.
The award was established by the CSHP
Board of Directors in 1993 to recognize up to three members annually who have made exceptional and sustained contributions to CSHP
at the regional and state levels.Dr. Kishi has served CSHP tirelessly for over 22 years.He has served on the CSHP Board of Directors in many capacities including as a Director (1982-1984, 1988), Chair of the House of Delegates (1987), President (1986), and Chair of the Board (1987).
volunteer activities include Chair of the Seminar 1981 Continuing Education Committee, Chair of the CSHP Legislative Committee (1986), Chair of the CSHP Committee on Nominations
, and Co-Chair of the CSHP Blue Ribbon Committee on Credentialing
and Certification (1999-2001).Dr. Kishi is a Fellow of CSHP and was the 1989 CSHP Pharmacist of the Year.
In addition to his
state level activities, Dr. Kishi
continues to be an active participant in his
regional chatper, the Golden Gate Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP).He is actively involved at the national level and has completed a term on the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists' (ASHP) Board of Directors.He has also served as a delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates (1984-89, 1996-2000).Dr. Kishi
will be honored during Seminar 2001 at the Volunteer Reception at the Westin Hotel
in Santa Clara, CA on Friday, October 26, 2001.
