Donald D. Gaston Sr., 76, passed away Friday, April 12, 2002 at his home in Rockport.He was a retired vice president of Mass Mutual Life Insurance.He served in the Pacific Theater in WWII with the 3rd Marine Division.He was a member of the Masons, actively involved as choir director and council member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and had volunteered on the USS Lexington. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara in 1975. He is survived by his wife, Rene of Rockport; four sons, Donald Dale (Debra K.) Gaston of South Woodstock, CT, Dwight Douglas (Debra C.) Gaston of Davenport, IA, Kevin Allan (Denise Marie) Johnson of Mill Creek, WA, and Marvin David Johnson of Kansas City, KS; seven grandchildren, Douglas Gaston, David Gaston, Andrew Gaston, Alyssa Gaston, Daniel Gaston, William Johnson, and Daelin Johnson; one brother, Kenneth Gaston; five sisters, Irene Ruby, Dorene Ruhl, Barbara Frederickson, Cindy Petree, and Phyllis Murphy. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 16 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
