Donald N. Burch, a geophysicist with AXIS Geophysics, graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1993.His
interest in geophysics started with a job through the physics department at Boulder doing database management for a Eurasian tomographic research project.Upon graduation, he
hired on with The Discovery Group
, a petrophysical shop here in Denver.Don
proceeded to learn all the ins and outs of wireline data and rock/fluid property determination.Fields within the Greater Green River Basin were the focus of two of his
major petrophysical projects, both of which have been published (by the SPE and GRI).In early 1999, Don
joined forces with Michael Holmes at Digital Formation doing high-level data analysis for equity determination and reservoir characterization worldwide.
The year 2000 yielded a move to AXIS Geophysics
was charged with developing analytical techniques for the integration of borehole data with the seismic processing flow. His
procedures are now standard practice at AXIS Geophysics
, with surface to TD well ties becoming common.Don
is currently knee deep in velocity field and effective stress analysis with commensurate calibration/ integration of borehole data of all sorts.
