Donald E. BrungardDonald E. Brungard, 76, of Riverview, Fla., a former city resident, died early Saturday morning, Feb. 22, 2003, at Manor Care South.He and his wife, the former Jeanne E. Ryder, were married 45 years before her death in 1996.A former district sales representative for Westinghouse Electric Supply Co., he later became a corporate officer with Guy Koser Electric, South Williamsport, and retired from that firm after 35 years of service.Born in Williamsport on Aug. 23, 1926, he was a son of Thomas and Margaret Young Brungard.He graduated from Williamsport High School, Class of 1944, and attended Lycoming College.He served in naval aviation during World War II and saw service in the African theater of operations.He was a member of Faxon Kenmar Methodist Church and John F. Laedlein Lodge No. 707, F.&A.M.Donald also belonged to the Williamsport Country Club, Wheel Club, Harmonia Gesang Verein Club, Loyalsock Twp. and South Williamsport Lions Clubs and American Legion Alafia Post #148, Riverview.He was a life member and past president of the Oaks and Young Men's Republican clubs.He was an avid golfer and played basketball in the former City League.Survivors include his daughter, Yvonne R. (Gary) Reighard, with whom he lived in Riverview; a son, Craig E. (Elaine), Montoursville; and three grandchildren, Ranee Y. Reighard, Tampa, Fla., Ryan Reighard, city, and Corey Brungard, Montoursville.In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ray, of Jersey Shore.Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spitler's, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. John M. Kita, assistant pastor of the Church of the Annunciation, officiating.Burial will be in Twin Hills Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the American Heart Association, Northeastern PA District, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701, or the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
