Commissioner Don Truell made a motion to contribute an extra $20,000 to pay for additional bleachers and/or other expenditures.
The $20,000 will only be paid if the combined contributions of City of Thomasville, Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center and the Tom A. Finch Community YMCA match that amount. "I made the motion because it is a city school here in Thomasville," Truell said. "The city (of Thomasville) said they couldn't do it." Truell added the outdoor track at Thomasville High School is used by numerous residents for exercise. "This is a track used by the entire city," Truell said. The system would pay $30,000 a year with the first payment due by Dec. 31 and on the same day for the next four years.Commissioner Don Truell made a motion to contribute an extra $20,000 to pay for additional bleachers and/or other expenditures.
