"We have been wanting to be a part of Sunset Records since the main label was announced starting up at this time last year, and I have been impressed with the new music signed by Don Lichterman.I am excited and humbled to be a part of this label group.I'm really impressed how the label works with new artists."

UCW Entertainment Newswire - Sekshun 8 Sets Up the Black Wing Butterfly CD to be Released to Stores Worldwide
news.ucwe.com, 8 June 2009 [cached]
Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records says that he believes "the production, songwriting and live shows are what define the band.
...
The band's sophomore CD and the first with Lichterman's (Don) Sunset Records, Black Wing Butterfly has themes of isolation, hope, optimism and mysticism amidst the solidity of the bands playing and within the music. Sekshun 8 appears to be tenacious with some of the strongest vocals while offering occasional glimpses into the psyche of how the band works their music. Black Wing Butterfly explores many topics. "The CD is as real as it gets," says Lichterman, and "that is what rock music is all about."
...
Lichterman says that the label is not "reinventing the wheel" so to speak, "it will not take much for radio station PD's, music directors and disc jockey's to hear that with the initial single, "Black Winged Butterfly" Sekshun 8 has a great song for major radio. Man Of Sorrow also features the backing vocals of Tara, (a friend of the band), the 10 rock songs that make up the CD is a must for every hard rock fan.
With Black Wing Butterfly, Sekshun 8 could begin its peak and outwardly without contemporary help to date, Sunset is poised to work this band in a very big way. Though the members are a group of modest people with honest devotion to their music, the sound is over the top confident that will rock your world and as Lichterman says in the end, "They are powerful hard-rock band that takes pride in this CD."

"I am psyched to get this launched today; Sunset Music Publishing can show how it is one of the integral parts of us building one the most innovative and progressive music companies in the world and besides that recognition for the company, this is just another way for us to showcase our catalog that is available for the production music industry today," says head of Sunset, Don Lichterman. He goes onto say that "doing things the automated way online continues to grow how businesses gets done in general, and in this case, music supervisors, can now review and retrieve our music at any time. Sunset Music has more than 150 entries on the nomination ballot for the 54th Grammy Awards this year and (Don) Lichterman says that from what he does see growing in this part of the industry is that "more companies are sprouting up with a system like I have set up at Sunset. Lichterman describes "Universal's (Universal Music Publishing) amazing system which after I saw the launch of it last month, and I merely expanded on their concept of dealing online, however at Sunset, you can check right out using our own e-commerce."
Lichterman and Sunset also have one of the only A&R Submittal tools in place, and the company now does it royalty payments and statements online and paperless.

Don Lichterman's Three Weeks In June is set to hit every store this month, and will be available at any place that sells paperback books, eBooks and audio books!
Traveling in America has never been the same, the Don Lichterman book, Three Weeks In June, is not just a book about travelling all over the United States. (Don) Lichterman's route in America, explores his visit to an Indian Reservation, to the largest music festival, on a rock bands final tour, while travelling all over the United States. The adventure is helped along by him losing his cell phone, his wallet, all of his money, and he broke his pda while managing to somehow receive cash from a Western Union, get his tickets replaced for any shows, rented a car and got on an airplane without any identification. "This is not just a story about what I did for that three weeks span of time," the author, Don Lichterman says about his newly published book, "this is a very political book."
The book, Three Weeks In June also discusses the controversy with the War on Drugs, the private jails and private prisons all over America while also discussing how corrupt the bank system is today, and how corporations should be responsible for their actions. "I touch into everything and I give solutions along with my pints, including how to gain jobs with ease today, let alone how gain huge revenues with those jobs, how to gain money in general with ease today, how to stop the ridiculous spending we do as a nation. "I also go off about how corrupt the criminal justice system is today and has been for decades," says (Don) Lichterman.
Don Lichterman is the founder, current chairman and head of the Sunset Entertainment Companies. Since starting in the entertainment industry he has garnered more than eleven (11) Gold, Platinum and Multi Platinum Records Awards issued to him by the Recording Association of America (R.I.A.A.), four (4) Gold, Platinum and Multi Platinum A.R.I.A. (Australian Recording Industry Association), and has worked three of the largest and most successful entertainment companies in the world. Lichterman has been a participant at the Grammys on The Hill Advocacy Day, on behalf of the Recording Academy, at the Senate Building in Washington DC for last two years in a row in 2010 and 2011. He was also presented all around achievement award for most successful year ever at major record company.
(Don) Lichterman also shows his colors by making no bones about growing up on Grateful Dead tours confirming that he has seen exactly 381 shows before Jerry Garcia died in 1995. He then says, "I think I somehow managed to have accumulated to see over 250 Phish shows since I first met the two of them at that Widespread Panic show at the Roxy in Hollywood" and "since I was first taken to see that band at their own show in 1994."

"This is an important time to be a part of the development of Nigerian world music," says Don Lichterman, the head of Tropical Records. And he says that "No-Limitt is the perfect Nigerian music artist and band leader to get his message to the rest of the world. (Don) Lichterman also says that "the album is a vital work of contemporary World Music," or what is described as an "Afrolife Master" sound or "Afrobeat."
...
Also, the new international recording deal with No-Limitt and Tropical / Sunset will have an aggregate customer/viewer base that is worldwide and the label head, Don Lichterman says that "having the ability to sign bands from anywhere in the world, and having the opportunity to then reach out to an international consumer fan base, is exciting for me as an A&R person in this industry today. (Don) Lichterman then says, "let alone making sales internationally is also what is most gratifying to me today because then, that then allows me to find new music while I gain knowledge of what consumers want from every country around the world," and Lichterman explains that he is also "working on hiring a great new team of people that share the same vision for my short and long term plans at the company."

"Respect is another important artist for reggae music," says Don Lichterman, the head of Tropical Records, "and for the Tropical Record label (www.Tropical-Records.com).
...
He (Don Lichterman) then says, "let alone us signing what I consider to be international star, like Pascal G, the label has come full circle since I started it two years ago in August, in the most perfect way."
(Don) Lichterman started Tropical Records while attending Sum fest in the summer of 2007 in Montego Bay, Jamaica in the West Indies. Since then, the label (Tropical Records) has been providing reggae music listeners with not only what is considered to be traditional roots reggae style of music, Tropical Records has also released specific dancehall styled reggae music artists since its inception two and a half years ago from this month. Since the start of his career, Respect has returned stronger than ever with this 'Take A Stand' CD and the "High Miles Punny" and "Silent Assassin" songs are already getting airplay in constant rotations at world music radio stations and on online radio stations, all over the world. His first single, "High Miles Punny" has really started to gain the attention of retailers, distributors (Sunset/Island Def Jam Digital) during the set up time this month, and that should lead to the sales of the new ' Take A Stand' CD that will be in stores on February 22 this month.
"Dancehall (reggae) styled artists and their songs are not only stronger than ever in today's marketplace," says (Don) Lichterman about the reggae artist, Respect, "but honestly, I also love that style of music myself because its fun quite frankly. The Tropical Record label seems to be intertwining what can be considered roots reggae music artists, along with dancehall reggae music artists that have mixed or added fusions bringing in other styles of music, to reggae songs. "I like taking a certain basis from an A&R and producer point of view when signing artists and putting together their albums," (Don) Lichterman continues to day say about his world music record label (Tropical Records), "and then what I always try to do is to expand on that basis if you will, with artists that can deliver colorful melodies and more avenues in songs than the verse, verse, chorus basic way people write songs."
...
Respect was signed this month by Don Lichterman who heard the songs from the Take A Stand CD earlier this year, says that he "wanted to bring him (Respect) to the Tropical label" and that he "wants to get the CD out this year. The legendary reggae artist was quickly sought after by the Indy record label Tropical Records before signing the artist to the multi album recording deal.
"Respect is the perfect addition to the Tropical label," says Don Lichterman, the head of Tropical Records, and "we cannot wait to start working his music this month.

North American audiences can potentially look forward to Pascal playing live;
