Don Lee Don Lee has spent more than 30 years in electronic media as a program manager, producer, editor, writer and host, specializing in music and the arts. Lee spent nearly 20 years at National Public Radio in Washington, DC where he was executive producer of the Peabody Award-winning classical music program Performance Today, an editor/producer for Morning Edition and The Sunday Show and host of NPR's Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra broadcasts. At Minnesota Public Radio, he directed arts and culture programming and oversaw cultural news coverage. He also served as director of program management and producer relations at Public Radio International. Among his current projects, he is co-executive producer of AARP Internet Radio.

Don Lee Joins Minnesota Public Radioas Senior Director for Arts and Culture
Former NPR producer and editor to lead significant initiative for expanded programming as well as regional arts and culture efforts
(St. Paul, Minn.) -Don Lee, an award-winning former producer and editor for National Public Radio (NPR), has been named senior director for arts and culture at Minnesota Public Radio.® In this role, Lee will help lead Minnesota Public Radio's initiative to significantly expand music, arts and cultural programming.
Lee will also lead the editorial and program development activities of Minnesota Public Radio's regional arts and culture staff, and will work directly within the newsroom as a cultural editor, overseeing cultural news and features reporting, regional Web activity and live events programming.
"Don brings to Minnesota Public Radio a rare mix of radio experience in news, classical music and cultural programming," said Sarah Lutman, Minnesota Public Radio's senior vice president of cultural programming and initiatives.
Lee worked for NPR for 18 years, serving as executive producer of NPR's Performance Today, during which time the show was honored with a Peabody Award (1998), the ASCAP/Deems Taylor Broadcast Award (1996) and the New York Festivals gold medal (1992).He was also associate producer in NPR's arts unit, host of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra broadcasts, and a newscaster and producer for NPR's Sunday Show.
Lee grew up in Minnesota, graduating from St. Olaf College and working at WCAL in Northfield as well as KWLM and KQIC in Willmar.He will return to his home state to assume his new role.
