Dinu Ahmed is working with Community Voices Heard (CVH), an organization of low-income people -- predominantly women with experience on welfare -- working to build power in New York City and State to improve the lives of families and communities.
Dinu is a Bangladeshi American who lives in Queens, where she is an active member of New York's Muslim community. She co-developed a faith-based arts organization in New York City called Khadijah's Caravan and continues to be an active leader of this initiative. She has experience in youth organizing and is looking to grow as a community organizer because she believes communities "that are marginalized and underrepresented in local and national politics have to be heard, and community organizing offers a much more inclusive approach towards making this need a reality. As a student, Dinu interned with organizations supporting gender equality and education of women in Bangladesh and India.
