is excited to take on a new role inside the NBC25 Newsroom, moving over from sports to news, and is thrilled to get the chance to anchor alongside his wife Jenny Suniga.
Dillon joined NBC25 in February 2007 as the weekend sports anchor/weekday sports reporter.
was elevated to Sports Director in July 2008.
Although not a Michigan native, Dillon
spent many childhood summers down river and as far north as Rose City and has a number of close relatives in the area.
Before venturing to Mid-Michigan, Dillon worked as a sports anchor/sports reporter at KGNS in Laredo, Texas.
Believe it or not, the border town gave Dillon his
first taste of professional hockey.
The Laredo Bucks are two-time champions of the Central Hockey League and Dillon
was ice level for the Bucks' 2006 title-clinching win in Bossier-Shreveport, La.
In the summer of 2006, Dillon
handled road play-by-play duties for United League Baseball's Laredo Broncos and quickly found out that nothing beats a 14-hour bus trip.
grew up in Tucson, Ariz., and played almost every sport you can imagine.
He later attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
An avid ASU fan, Dillon
will forever bleed maroon and gold.
The Michigan Associated Press has honored Dillon
the last three years in the "Best Sportscast" category.
In 2010, he added a "Best in Sports" award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for his reporting work for Spartan Nation TV.
is also heavily involved with the Genesee Area Chamber of Commerce
, taking part in career fairs and encouraging Mid-Michigan students to pursue their dreams.
In his spare time, Dillon
likes to work out, play the piano and spend time with his wife Jenny, darling daughter Tessa, and the family's three dogs (two Shih Tzus named Sushi and Aayla and a rambunctious Weimaraner named Hannah).
Dillon is also an instrument-rated private pilot, who recently added his complex and high-performance endorsements.
