Dick Ireland, Pastoral Care
Dick Ireland Dick Ireland is a Baltimore native and a long-time member of Chapelgate Church. Since he was 13 years old, Dick has worked in a variety of radio formats. He was the morning announcer at WLIF for 26 years and more recently he was part of the Christian radio community at WRBS, 95.1 FM, as the morning host of "Dick and the Morning Crew". On May 11, 2006, Dick suffered a stroke, which ended his long career in radio. Dick now serves as part of the Caring Ministry with a special focus on our older members at Chapelgate. In the past he has served as a deacon, headed the Chapelgate Single's Ministry, and organized a Sunday School class. As an elder he planned several Reformed Conferences and headed the special events for the year-long Centennial Celebration, which commemorated Chapelgate's existence for a hundred years.

WRBS/Baltimore announced today that long-time morning host and Baltimore radio legend Dick Ireland will not return to his morning program after suffering a stroke on May 11, 2006.
Hundreds of cards, letters and well-wishes have encouraged Dick and his family as he continues his rehabilitation therapy. Dick commented, Physically I am doing well. There are times when I cant express everything I want to say, but I am making progress in speech therapy. Our prayer is that the Lord would be glorified through this experience. At a recent gathering in his honor, Dick was presented with a commemorative plaque containing the microphone he used at WRBS. Steve Lawhon, WRBS General Manager noted, We wanted Dick to understand the depth of our appreciation for his work in broadcasting and to honor his exemplary Christian faith and witness. Dick was the morning man at Baltimores WLIF-FM (101.9) for 26 years before coming to WRBS-FM in 1997. WRBS is expecting to announce a permanent replacement for Dick in the next few weeks. Welcome to Cindy Bauchspies' Homepage -- News [cached]

Cindy was also interviewed by WRBS's Dick Ireland which was aired on March 29, 1999.
Transcript of WRBS interview with Dick Ireland March 29, 1999: Dick: Cindy, are you a native Marylander--have you lived here all your life? Dick: Now, do you have a musical family? Dick: Oh that's great (laughs). Tell me about your musical background. Dick: You played the piano? Dick: Now you also are music director at your church, is that right? Dick: Now, you have written many of the songs in you album have you not? Dick: Do you have a favorite song on the album? Dick: My wife loves For Us All. She's crazy about that and I've had the opportunity to play that on the air here at RBS a couple of times and--well you must have a talented family because I notice in the album that your husband Todd actually designed the cover, and part of the cover is sort of a border although it not on the extreme outside of the front of the CD, but there's a border there and it looks like a quilt, and indeed that quilt was made by somebody very... Dick: And she did that back in 1893. Cindy: Yes.. Dick: I was only a little boy back then... (laughter) Well, you play piano, and you sing, and you do both on your album. Dick: How did the idea come about to do an album? Dick: That's great. Dick: And you are I assume going to try to have it in other Christian book stores in the not too distant future. Dick: As a musician and writer Cindy, other than yourself, who are some of the people you enjoy listening to the most? Dick: How about to listen to somebody? Dick: Well, we've been speaking with Cindy Bauchspies this morning about her new album and a little about her background--we're going to play the tune--her favorite from her album Peaceable Kingdom.
