For nearly a decade Pastor Dick ministered to anyone who needed help from his home.
In 1980, a formal ministry was created - Fellowship of Christian Students. This new ministry's charter was "to minister to the needs of the individual and their families through the transforming power of Jesus Christ." By 1983, Fellowship of Christian Students organization had grown into offices in Upper Arlington. God continued to bless the ministry and in 1984, the ministry's name changed to Fellowship of Christian Ministries. Soon after, as an extension of the counseling ministry, a small group began regularly meeting at Pastor Dick's home for worship services. It was at this time that Pastor Dick Gauch and others realized that God was beginning a new local church. After almost 20 years of service Pastor Dick Gauch retired from full time ministry in January 2004.
