Dianne Edmondson Executive Director - Republican National Coalition for Life
Dianne Edmondson has been named Executive Director of the Republican National Coalition for Life by Phyllis Schlafly, the group's founder and National Chairman.
Dianne, a native Texan, has been active in the pro-family movement since the early 1970s, heading STOP ERA movements in Minnesota,Texas and Oklahoma. A long-time political activist, Mrs. Edmondson is currently the longest-serving Chairman of the Denton County (Texas) Republican Party. Under her leadership,it has become recognized as one of the country's most reliably Republican counties, whose net Republican vote offsets up to ten Democrat stronghold counties in state-wide Texas elections. She has participated in dozens of Republican campaigns for county, state and national candidates. Active within the GOP since the mid-1960s, she has served as a National Republican Convention Delegate and a delegate to a dozen Texas State Conventions, as well as Precinct Chair and many offices in various Republican clubs. She has also served in many community organizations. View my complete profile

Denton County's Republican Party chairwoman Dianne Edmondson wrote a letter that was published in today's Denton Record Chronicle ostensibly to defend Republican incumbent State Representative Myra Crownover.
I find it interesting and somewhat enlightening as to the state of the GOP in Denton that Ms. Edmondson couldn't point to one tangible thing Myra Crownover has done in her tenure.
All that Edmondson could muster was "She's approachable, she's effective and she's represented us well for eight years."
This GOP gal was able to fire off two shots at John McClelland though, showing that she is both sadly misinformed, and not above seeking the homophobe bigot vote on behalf of her party.

However, the debate is still on, according to Dianne Edmondson, chairman of the Denton County Republican Party, even if it becomes an "empty chair" debate.
"The FFD people refused to participate in this public debate if the speaker against the ban was either Tom Giovanetti or Ed Ireland, " Edmondson confirmed. "I presume that is because in the first debate on this issue, which was held last month, these two speakers clearly dominated the two presenters in favor of the ban, as shown by the audience reactions and questions. It's very hypocritical of FFD to insist that this is a local issue which demands only local participants when the majority of their funding is coming from a radical environmental group in Washington D.C "
However, Edmondson acquiesced to the pro-ban group's demands, and lined up a local attorney and community leader, Richard Hayes, who agreed to present the anti-ban position at the debate.
"It certainly appears that Frack Free Denton does not intend to engage in a true public debate on this issue, apparently because they lack confidence in their ability to communicate their scare tactics against scientific fact," Edmondson surmises.
