Math Department Chair
has thirteen formal years of teaching experience in both middle and secondary mathematics.
She received her BS in Math Education from the University of Arizona in 1973.
taught for nine years, but was lured away by the prospect of a corporate career in accounting.
In 1985, she
coursework for an M.S. Tax Accounting and she
passed the CPA exam in 1987.
spent twelve years in public and corporate accounting before returning to teaching in 2005.
While working in public accounting, she never gave up on math.
tutored local high school students in her
kitchen for ten years before formally returning to teaching at American Academy
took Calculus (the first semester) again in 2008 to keep ahead of the math students here at AA.
also predicts that the American Academy
Mathcounts team will go to the National competition in May of 2010.
