has developed competence in a broad range of subjects, including the spatial aspects of location, distribution and interaction; environmental planning, design and restoration.
It is her
belief that in order to comprehend how natural systems function, the physical and socio-economic processes must also be identified in the development of geospatial data.
As a GIS Specialist, Malone's tasks involve creating maps, charts and graphics for comprehensive plans, annexation studies, community redevelopment plans, beautification plans and water quality reports and studies.
responsibilities include generating customized, site-specific location and description maps, converting data into geospatial information, generating hydrographs and the preparation of statistical analysis reports using Arc/Info.
Malone has worked extensively as a Scientist/Geographer with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD).
primary responsibilities are GIS data development and geospatial analysis in support of hydro-meteorological and water quality data infrastructure; developing and maintaining geospatial databases for GIS mapping and other GIS or environmental monitoring and assessment projects; and providing daily GIS mapping and data service support to customers from other district departments.
As a GIS Specialist with Iler Planning, Malone has utilized her professional beliefs and expertise to create maps and graphics for such clients as the Town of Medley, the City of Homestead and Florida City.
