Diana Williams
Diana Williams is in her twenty-fourth year as a music educator. Ms. Williams is currently a band director with Lovejoy Independent School District in Lucas, Texas. Her duties at Willow Springs Middle School include directing the Wind Ensemble and assisting with Symphonic Band. Diana serves as the lead teacher for the Willow Springs campus. Ms. Williams also directs the jazz bands at both the Lovejoy High School campus and at Willow Springs Middle School.
Before moving to Texas, Ms. Williams served as Director of Bands at Webb City High School, located in Webb City, Missouri. Diana directed the award-winning Cardinal Pride Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz I & II. Ms. Williams also served as the Fine Arts Coordinator for the R-7 School District. Ms. Williams served as Director of Bands for the junior high program prior to her appointment to the high school. Under Ms. Williams' leadership, the bands brought home a great deal of awards, accolades, and pride to both the school district and the Webb City community.
Diana is the founder and Executive Director of Cutting Edge Auxiliaries Summer Camp. The camp has been serving students for over 15 years, and is hosted by Pittsburg State University and Missouri Western State University. Diana serves as an adjudicator and clinician for several state contests, festivals, and camps. Honors and awards include: 2011 Missouri Music Educators Conference Honor Band, 2011 Phi Beta Mu Band Director of the Year - Missouri Chapter; 2010 & 2006 Tournament of Roses Parade Band; 2005 Honor Band at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference; Webb City Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year; KSN-TV Teacher of the week; and Who's Who Among American Teachers (1998 - current).
Professional memberships include: MENC, TMEA, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Jazz Educators Association, MMEA, Missouri Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu, National Bandmasters Association, WBDNA. Ms. Williams served as Vice- President/All-State Band Coordinator for MBA for three years. Diana also served on the Southwest Missouri Music Educators District as the District Jazz Coordinator for six consecutive years. In the summer of 2008, Ms. Williams served as the Southwest Missouri Coordinator for the Missouri Ambassadors of Music European Tour. Ms. Williams also contributed to the book, "Leader of the Band", by Scott Lang.
Ms. Williams received a Bachelor in Music Education (1992) from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas, and a Masters Degree in Secondary School Administration (2003) from Missouri State University.
A native of Inola, Oklahoma, Diana currently resides in Allen, Texas. Her son, Devon, attends Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Arts in Dover, New Jersey.
