Diana Murphy, Managing Director
A veteran of the Southeastern investment and business communities, Diana Murphy
has an established track record of identifying high-potential new companies for venture capital investment and priming them for success.
She is an expert in negotiating deals, leading strategic planning, creating finance models and building effective management teams.
Diana began working with GRA Venture Fund in 2009 as a founding investor and was named its first Managing Director in 2012.
In that capacity, she
guides investment decision-making and plays a key role in propelling the early growth of some of the most promising start-ups to emerge out of university laboratories.
For 20 years, Diana has directed private equity firms, including Chartwell Capital Management Company, a Florida firm with an investment portfolio of nearly $200 million.
As the current managing director of Georgia-based Rocksolid Holdings
invests in small businesses and real estate and provides business consulting to client companies.
Diana's experience and insight have made her
a valuable contributor to numerous enterprises.
She currently serves on the boards of publicly traded companies Landstar System, Inc. and CTS Corporation and is Vice President and member of the Executive Committee of the United States Golf Association.
Diana is also a director or observer on a number of boards of private companies and serves as a trustee for Coastal Bank of Georgia, Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Georgia and the College of Coastal Georgia Foundation.
Diana's career began in publishing and followed a trajectory that led to a 15-year term as senior vice president of The Baltimore Sun Company.
A graduate of West Virginia University, Diana also holds an advanced executive business degree from Northwestern University.
