The board of directors for Katy Christian Ministries has promoted Deysi Crespo to the position of CEO, said board president Patti Lacy.
Crespo is the third ministries CEO since 2012 and had served as interim CEO since mid-January. She succeeds Bridget Anderson, who took over after the longtime ministries CEO was dismissed in spring 2012 after published reports of the misuse of ministry funds. Crespo, 39, began at KCM in 2007 as a volunteer and progressed to primary prevention specialist and client advocate for sexual assault, according to Lacy. "Deysi served as our crisis center director in 2012," Lacy said, and as development coordinator in 2013. "Being named CEO at this time is a challenge," Crespo said, "but I hope I bring enough experience to the position to meet the challenge. Through community support, we can only make it better." Crespo grew up in Huntsville and graduated from Huntsville High School before earning her bachelor's degree in social work at the University of Houston-Clear Lake and her master's degree in social work at the University of Houston.
