The FungoMan Automated Baseball Practice Machine is the brainchild of Cucjen and Denny Duron, chancellor of Evangel Christian Academy.
Cucjen said Duron approached him seven years ago looking for a machine that would allow his son, current Spokane Indians shortstop Denny Rodney Duron, to practice his fielding and hitting by himself. "(Denny) came to me and asked me where was the machine that will throw balls automatically and can run by itself," Cucjen said.

Chancellor - Pastor Denny Duron

Dez Duron is the son of Denny Duron, who has achieved notoriety in his life, on the field, in education and in ministry.
Denny and DeAnza Duron are the proud parents of six children and It did not take long for Evangel to emerge as a super power in Louisiana football under the vision and direction of their son, Denny. Denny Duron served as head coach at Evangel for three years and offensive coordinator for 11 seasons, coaching many All-Americans while fashioning a spread offense that was the original, the forerunner for the now popular scheme which permeates the sport at the prep and college levels. Evangel set national records for yardage, touchdowns and points scored and captured a national championship while Duron was involved on the field. Denny stepped away as a coach in 1998 to focus on taking over pastoral duties when his father retired from ministry. Returning to the Superdome will bring back memories for Duron. "It's under different auspices this time," Duron said. The Evangel program has also produced a host of players with the last name of Duron. Denny Duron was a star quarterback at Louisiana Tech in 1972 and 1973, leading the Bulldogs to a pair of national championships and a 24-1 record. Duron was twice named First-Team All-Southland Conference and was the Southland Conference Most Valuable Offensive Player in 1973. Duron received honorable mention All-American honors in his senior season and he was drafted in the second round by the Birmingham Americans of the World Football League, where he played two seasons before signing with the Washington Redskins in 1976. Duron turned over his life to the ministry that year and never looked back at playing football again. "I had a wonderful time playing the game," Duron said. The significance of Duron leaving earth in the third month of the year and the 16th date was not lost on Denny Duron. "That's my dad," says Denny Duron.
