Who is Dennis Lynn?

After thirty-one years of ministry, Dennis Lynn retired as Pastor of McCormick First Baptist Church. For Dennis, retirement does not translate as recreation. He sees it as an opportunity to pursue avenues of ministry he has not previously pursued. Having had his first book published in the fall of 2008, he hopes to be able to devote more time to writing.
Besides writing, he has a ministry in the local church through revivals, seminars and conferences. It is his belief that too many churches have accepted the enemy's lies and have come to believe that they can not achieve great things because of their size, finances or location. He hopes to debunk that argument and to help churches see that they can be everything God wishes them to be.
Dennis is also a very experienced high school football coach. He believes in the development of strong teams and teamwork.
Feel free to contact Dennis if you would like more information.

Pastor - Rev. Dennis Lynn

Rev. Dennis Lynn has served McCormick First Baptist Church for the past ten years. Dennis has been married to his wife, Helen, for the past thirty-eight years. She has been an important part of his ministry. At present she is deeply involved in the Women's Ministry of the church. She teaches a weekly Ladies Bible Class on Tuesday mornings. This class is open to the community. Dennis and his wife have two grown sons and they are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.
Dennis' career began as a coach and teacher. For twelve years, he taught social studies and coached in the public schools of South Carolina. After a successful career in education, Dennis felt a call to serve the Lord full time. His first position on staff was Minister of Youth and Activities. After four and one-half years, he felt led to enter into the pastorate. While serving as pastor of his first church, he completed his seminary education at Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, SC.
Dennis believes that it is not how much he knows that matters; but it is what he can convey to his people that counts. Therefore, he attempts to speak in a manner that is clear and relevant to the issues of our day. His teaching background can be seen in his preaching style. Each message is accompanied by an outline that gives the listener something to take home and to ponder during the next week.
Dennis believes strongly that God has brought the people of McCormick First Baptist Church together for a special reason. He believes that there are great days ahead for the church, if it will remain focused upon the Lord and His direction. He believes that the secret to the successful Christian life is understanding the importance of maintaining a balance between the Scripture that reads, "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.

On February 1, 2009, after thirty-one years of ministry, Dennis Lynn retired as Pastor of McCormick First Baptist Church. For Dennis, retirement does not translate as recreation. He sees it as an opportunity to pursue avenues of ministry he has not previously pursued. Having had his first book published in the fall of 2008, he hopes to be able to devote more time to writing.

Besides writing, he hopes to pursue a teaching ministry in the local church through revivals, seminars, conferences, etc. It is his belief that too many churches have accepted the enemy's lies and have come to believe that they can not achieve great things because of their size, finances, location, etc. He hopes to debunk that argument and to help churches see that they can be everything God wishes them to be.
Entrusted Ministries was born out of this desire. Its purpose is to assist the local church become all God intends it to be. Marshall Fagg, who works with the Evangelism and Missions Team of the SC Baptist Convention had this to say about Dennis' ministry: "With over 70% of South Carolina Baptist Churches either on a plateau or in decline, Dennis becomes a resource of hope for Biblical revitalization."
