Dennis directed both OKLAHOMA and GUYS AND DOLLS. In spite of the artistic and box office success of the season the theatre company was forced to shut down operations due to failed negotiations with the theatre owners.
Since 1986, Dennis has Directed/ Choreographed for Off-Broadway, in Regional Theatres, Universities, Dinner Theatres and Summer Stock across the U.S. and Canada. In 2000 Dennis directed and choreographed the Off-Broadway musical DRESSING ROOM. As a Broadway veteran, Dennis has more than 20 years of experience as a performer on Broadway, Television and in Films. On Broadway he appeared in the revival of Finian's Rainbow (with Frank McHugh and Nancy Dussault) at the New York City Center. He was a member of the Broadway cast of Irene (with Debbie Reynolds & Jane Powell). Dennis also appeared in the original Broadway production of the legendary A Chorus Line. In 1981 he had the honor of performing with the Broadway Co. of A Chorus Line at the White House for President Reagan. He was seen weekly on The Red Skelton Show and The Carol Burnett Show. He appeared on Hawaii 5-O and has many "soap opera" appearances and national commercials to his credit. He appeared in several films, such as New York, New York, Annie, Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Puff'n Stuff.
Born and educated in New Orleans, Dennis continued his professional training in New York City. He studied acting at the famous HB Studios in Greenwich Village and the Film Actors Workshop at Columbia Films Studios in Los Angeles. He also studied dance and singing with some of the best teachers the city had to offer. Dennis has worked with and learned from many theatre legends like Michael Bennett, Gower Champion, Sir John Guielgud, Ron Field,Joe Layton and Peter Gennaro, just to name a few.
