Dennis joined the board after serving regularly in St. Anthony's Dining Room, where he grew to love the culture of dignity, respect and kindness. He currently serves as chair of the Fund Development Committee, and as the Board Chair of the North Country School/Camp Treetops in Lake Placid, New York. From 2001 - 2006, Dennis was the founding Board Chair of Oak Hill, a school in Marin for children with autism and other developmentally-based learning challenges.
Dennis spent most of his professional career as the Chief Assistant City Attorney in San Francisco, after previous work as a federal prosecutor. He has argued cases of constitutional significance in the Supreme Courts of the United States and of California. In 1998, he was named one of California's 20 "lawyers of the year" for his successful defense of San Francisco's Equal Benefits Ordinance in suits brought by Pat Robertson's legal foundation and United Airlines.
Dennis is a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Law School, and was a Wasserstein Public Interest Fellow at Harvard in 1996.
