Texto, direção, interpretação: Denise Stutz
Denise Stutz (Brasil, RJ) FINITA | Denise Stutz (Brazil, RJ) Finita: feminine Portuguese noun meaning that which is finite or has limits. How do we talk about what doesn't exist anymore? The starting point of Denise Stutz's solo, which was conceived in 2010, is a letter sent by her mother. With that inspiration, she used the architecture of the theater to elaborate on the concept of loss and explore the issues of ageing and absence from the perspective of dance. The dance that is born out of autobiographical issues, a theme that has been driving Denise Stutz for some time, shifts between the personal experiences and important dance and music artistic references, which don't exist anymore as they were put into this world. Historical references, such as "The Dying Swan", favor the identification with the audience. Denise Stutz began her dance studies in Belo Horizonte (MG). In 1975, along with ten other dancers, she founded Grupo Corpo. She worked with choreographer Lia Rodrigues as a dancer, teacher and assistant director. She currently creates and interprets her own pieces. Text, direction and performance: Denise Stutz FINITA | Denise Stutz (Brazil, RJ)
