For many years, Ms. Marcil served on the board of directors of the Association of Authors' Representatives (AAR) and its predecessor, the Independent Literary Agents Association.
She was Literary Vice President for the AAR.
She is chair of the AAR's Royalty Committee on which she's served since its inception in 1991.
She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Communication Arts Institute, the parent organization for The Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
