Six Flags California Vice President & General Manager, Del Holland, began his theme park career 41 years ago at Six Flags Over Texas as an entry-level seasonal employee and now runs one of the largest theme park properties in the country.His business acumen and strong leadership have enabled him to contribute greatly to the industry as he's excelled over the years in a wide range of key management positions throughout the Six Flags organization - both on a Corporate and Park level.
From Operations to Retail at Parks in Texas, Missouri and New Jersey, Holland's early Six Flags years spanned a variety of departments and job responsibilities.In 1982, Holland joined the corporate team as Retail Vice President for Six Flags Theme Parks, then based in Los Angeles and Chicago in 1984.
After four years serving in his corporate role, Holland was promoted to Vice President & General Manager of Six Flags AstroWorld and WaterWorld before relocating once again in 1991 to Six Flags Over Georgia as Vice President & General Manager.
Since his appointment to Vice President & General Manager of Six Flags Magic Mountain in 1993, Holland has managed several of the largest and most innovative capital investments in Six Flags Theme Parks' recent history.
In 1995, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor debuted, representing the first addition to the Six Flags family since Six Flags Great America in 1984.
Under Holland's respected leadership, Six Flags California continues to achieve tremendous success.
Holland is a native of Texas and a graduate of the University of Texas in Arlington.
