Normally, the Humane Society can euthanize any animal deemed too vicious or otherwise unfit for adoption after five days. But since all the strays brought in after Charley may be household pets, Parsons-Drake said they must be held for a minimum of 30 days.Among the Rottweilers, bulldogs and mutts of all size and color is a shepherd-black Labrador mix breed that was shot and wounded Monday by a law officer who thought the animal was going to bite him, said Parsons-Drake.That dog, not yet named, is being treated with antibiotics and recovering, she said.
