"I think he's an exemplary teacher," said Debbie Feick, director of curriculum at Mount Pleasant Township Community Schools. Feick
said the children are sometimes challenged by more than their special needs.Acceptance in the school and community settings is one example of those challenges.
"A practical, functional approach teaches not only the children but the people in the community around them about their worth and integrity as students," Feick
focuses on encouragement and students' strengths and said that young teachers shouldn't be 'afraid to try something new and don't be afraid to know your students and their backgrounds.' "
