At Manhattan High School, Richard won the Golf State Championship 3 consecutive years 3-time All-American golfer at the University of Florida Member of the LPGA for 20 years where she won 6 tournament titles
One of the best female golfers ever produced by the state of Kansas, Debra Ann Richard was a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour for 20 years, from 1986 to 2005. Richard won six tournament titles on the LPGA Tour, finished in the Top 10 in numerous others and retired No. 24 on the all-time money list.
Amateur Titles
Raised in Manhattan, Kansas, Richard won the state high school championship three consecutive years (1979-81) for the Manhattan Indians and then claimed the Kansas Women's Amateur titles in 1982 and '83. In 1984, Richard won the prestigious United States Women's Amateur and, a few months later, was part of the U.S. team that won the World Amateur Golf Team Championship in Hong Kong.
Collegiate & Professional Career
Richard attended the University of Florida where she won seven tournaments including three consecutive Southeastern Conference championships. She was also the individual runner-up in the 1985 NCAA Championships, won the Broderick Award as the nation's outstanding female collegiate golfer and was a three-time All-American. She led the Gators to the 1985 NCAA title. In 1992, Richard was selected for the U.S. Solheim Cup team.
