"We want to thank all agencies involved in cleaning up the drugs," Dean Mannis, SPD Administrative Captain and Tri-County Drug Task Force officer, said.
"By every agency working together, we can have great accomplishments."Mannis
said 10 cases were open in June and 10 in July and four already for August. The many different arrests have kept the departments busy in Stuttgart
along with DeWitt and Humphrey.Although arrests have come from these towns, the officers are also looking into other small towns within the county.
Over the last two months, approximately 70 Hydracodone pills have been seized with two arrests, five to 10 Xanex bars were confiscated and netted three arrests, several arrests involving people with marijuana with two instances gaining more than an ounce and two arrests, one gram of methamphetamine and one arrest and several arrests for crack cocaine and powder cocaine. Mannis
has also seen counterfeit substance that people are trying to sell as cocaine.Charges from that incident include possession of counterfeit substance with intent to deliver.
After a brief drop in methamphetamine production, Mannis
is starting to see the drug pick back up, but most of his
arrests over the summer have stemmed from marijuana and crack cocaine.Mannis
