The report by Dean Gump covered the past 20 days performance and the future short range objectives. During the month the Spring construction project was completed. Additions to the tees on holes 2,8,9, and 15 are finished off with new sod, and will be opened shortly. The new tee on #12 has drainage, sand capped surface, the tee area sodded, and the surrounding area seeded. The nursery is doing well, with roots down 2 to 3 inches and top growth starting to fill in.
We will start the 11th green/12th tee project on July 5th. It will take 2-3 weeks to complete the work, then 12 weeks before the new green can be put in play. Dean also stated that we will find out on 20 May how much time the Doak organization has for the Fall restoration projects. That led to the question of why we need Doak's presence, why not just turn the job over to the contractor (Earthsculptures) to do the work according to the plan already produced by Doak? The answer was that the Doak plan we currently have is just a visualization of what the course will look like when the restoration is complete, but is not the detailed set of engineering drawings required for actual construction.
