Dean Giannini was born in New York City and moved to Florida as a child.He received a B.A. from the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee; an M. Div. from the General Theological Seminary, New York; and a Ph.D. from St. Andrews University, Scotland.He has served in parishes in Sarasota and Miami; as Episcopal Chaplain at the University of South Florida; Dean of the Episcopal Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Florida; Dean of the School of Theology at the University of the South; and for fifteen years as Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, Indianapolis. He has taught at St. Andrews University, The University of South Florida, The University of the South, The General Theological Seminary; The University of Indianapolis; and Christian Theological Seminary.He
is the author of both scholarly and popular articles and reviews. He has served on the Board of Trustees of The General Theological Seminary and as its chair for five years; on the Board of Trustees for the Anglican Observer to the United Nations; the General Board of Examining Chaplains for the Episcopal Church; and the Episcopal Church's Commission on Ecumenical Relations.He also serves on the Board of the Fine Arts Society of Indianapolis. He
is married to Jo Ann, and has two daughters, both of whom live in Indianapolis.
