That was before Sept. 16, when a stranger walked on to campus, snatched 21-year-old Dawn Rossignol
of Medway and killed her
in what police say was a random act.
"The whole idea of the 'Colby bubble' is being burst," said Drew McKechnie, a friend of Rossignol
and a fellow senior at the private, liberal arts college.
...Investigators believe Rossignol, a dean's list student, was abducted while going to her car.She
was reported missing when she
failed to show up for the morning appointment in Bangor.
After a massive search, Rossingnol's body was discovered Sept. 17 near a small dam about a mile from campus.Police have not said how she
"was a caring person" who smiled a lot and "one of those people who quietly goes about her business and does a good job about it," said McKechnie, of Hudson, Ohio, who met her while they worked on campus jobs during the summer.
