Secretary Dawn M. Isackson graduated from Hamline University in 1991 and spent several years working in various capacities at small and large corporations before pursuing her law degree. She graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 2006, with honors and recognition for volunteer service during law school. Since graduation, she has practiced law at Messerli & Kramer P.A. in the area of business and real estate litigation. In addition, she co-chairs the Messerli & Kramer Attorney Development Committee and is a member of the Law Clerk Hiring Committee. Isackson was recently honored by Minnesota Law & Politics by her selection as a 2012 Rising Star. She is admitted to practice law in the Minnesota State Bar, the Federal District of Minnesota and the Tribal Court of Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Dakota Community. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers, and Equipment Leasing and Finance Association. In addition to her volunteer activities for MN SNAP, she volunteers for the Minnesota Volunteer Lawyers Network, the William Mitchell College of Law Volunteer Mentor for 1L Students Program and also acts as a volunteer judge for the Client Counseling Competition. Isackson has owned pets since her first cat at the age of five and is passionate about the mission of MN SNAP. Before her election to the MN SNAP Board of Directors, she personally trapped feral cats and kittens, had them spayed and neutered, socialized them and found them homes.
