David is a consulting nutritionist.
He retired as Director, Global Nutrition, H.J. Heinz Company in the spring of 2005, after 29 years of service.
Currently he is a nutrition consultant to the technical group of the H.J. Heinz Company in Pittsburgh, and the Director of the Global Micronutrient Programs of the Heinz Company Foundation.
The Heinz Micronutrient Campaign is combating the global health threat of iron deficiency anemia in the developing world through the development and distribution of vitamin and mineral powders, in partnership with numerous government agencies and non-governmental organizations around the world.
David is also on the Steering Committee of Pulse Canada.
In 1997, David
received the Earle Willard McHenry Award from the Canadian Society for Nutritional Sciences
in recognition for distinguished service in nutrition.
is the first and only person to date in the food industry to receive this prestigious scientific award.
is honoured with a graduate student scholarship, in his
name, for human nutrition at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
