David L. Yalowitz, MD, M.P.H. Medical Director, Clinical Care ManagementDr. David Yalowitz
has extensive experience working with managed care organizations.He was formerly the Chief Medical Officer for UnitedHealthcare of the Mid-Atlantic, located in Baltimore, Maryland.
In that capacity, he
was responsible for management of the health services organization and overall health care cost management within the health plan.Previously, Dr. Yalowitz was the Senior Medical Director for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of the National Capital Area and the Vice President for Medical Affairs for Prudential Health Care Plan of the Mid-Atlantic (formerly Johns Hopkins Health Plan).His
responsibilities included oversight of quality improvement, accreditation, utilization review, credentialing, pharmacy benefit design, and development of medical policy.He
also played a significant role in network development and contracting.Dr. Yalowitz
is licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia.He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.He is a past Vice Chairman, Medical Director Division for the Maryland HMO Association and Vice Chairman of the Physician Advisory Board for the Medical Society of Virginia Review Organization, Northern Virginia.Dr. Yalowitz is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Northwestern University Medical School.He completed his internship and residency at Georgetown University Hospital and received a Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
