David Wilcock, who is presently the Council's Head of Legal Services, will continue in his current role as well as taking up his new position.
will replace John Booth, who is retiring as Head of Personnel after 13 years in the role.
David joined Burnley Council in 2004 and is currently managing the legal support programme for the Elevate programme and other major redevelopment projects in the area.

Prior to joining Burnley Council, David was with the Office of the Legal Services Ombudsmman for four years plus the Greater Manchester Pension Fund for 11 years.
He also worked with Tameside Council for six years.
