David I. Wasserman, AIA, a licensed architect who for the past six years has served the Town of North Hempstead as its Commissioner of Buildings, Planning & Economic Development, and since 2002 also as Chairman of its Community Development Agency, has joined Douglaston Development Company, an arm of Levine Builders, as Vice President and Project Manager. Prior to joining the Town of North Hempstead, Mr. Wasserman was the Senior Architect and Director of Operations for a Westchester-based architecture, planning and development firm where his projects included low and high-rise residential developments, retail and office buildings, hotels, theaters and single family housing. "David's quarter century of experience in design, site development and planning, both in the public and private sectors, as well as his unique understanding of zoning and land use issues, the economics of development and the technical requirements of construction, will serve our company well," stated Jeffrey Levine, president of Douglaston Development.
