David has served as a member of the Canadian Forces Primary Reserve (both Army and Navy) and the Air element of the Canadian Forces Cadet Organizations Administration and Training Service (COATS).
A licensed pilot, David currently is an active volunteer with the Canadian Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) and the British Columbia Provincial Emergency Program Air Service (PEP-AIR).
