As Vice-President, Communications, Industrial and Distribution Sectors for IBM Canada Global Services, David is responsible for leading the national sales, marketing and solutions teams for IBM Canada's largest telecommunications, media and utilities clients.
Most recently, David was the Managing Director for one of IBM Corporation's largest global telecommunications clients, leading a global sales and business development team based out of London, England.
David joined IBM Canada Ltd. in 1979 and has held a broad range of professional and senior management positions spanning product development, marketing management and global sales in Canada and the United Kingdom.
David graduated in 1979 from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.In 1987, he received his M.B.A. in Marketing from York University.
In addition to his responsibilities at IBM, David's prime interest is in helping today's youth further their education and skill development.As a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, he has produced several white papers on computing careers for high school students and guidance counsellors and continues to speak at a variety of events, including student career nights and industry conferences.
David is an active mentor in the Alumni Mentorship Program at the Schulich School of Business (York University), providing industry insight and career guidance to MBA protégés.He is also a past member of the Ontario Government Skills Classification Committee and currently, the Toronto Board of Trade skills task force, developing roadmaps for meeting future skills needs in the Canadian IT and Communications industry, to be used in government consultation.
David is married and has two teenage sons.His interests include; general aviation (licensed pilot), motorcycling, tennis, and basketball.
