David was named Senior Vice President, Operations and Strategic Sourcing, for Condé Nast Publications in October 2005.
is responsible for managing the strategic sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, and paper purchasing operations for all of Condé Nast's
magazines and websites.
Prior to this assignment he served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Sourcing, in which capacity he developed the strategic sourcing operation for the company and was responsible for managing the major vendor activities for all of its divisions.
Before rejoining Condé Nast in December 2001, David worked as Senior Vice President of Operations for Fairchild Publications.
was responsible for directing the activities of Manufacturing and Distribution, Information Services, General Services, and the Photo and Imaging Studio
David joined Fairchild in January 2000 before it was part of Condé Nast.
In fact, he came to Fairchild from Condé Nast, where he was Director of Manufacturing and Distribution for more than four years, beginning in November 1995.
For nearly seven years prior to that, David was Director of Manufacturing at Gruner+Jahr USA Publishing, where he managed the manufacturing and distribution operations for G+J's seven major consumer and thirty-plus special interest publications.
Before entering the publishing industry, David worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for DSC Communications, a telecommunications equipment manufacturer in Dallas, Texas.
is active in many industry organizations.
He is currently Chairman of IDEAlliance, of which he has been an officer for four years.
He is also a member of the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) and past Chairman of the MPA Paper Committee (1996 - 2000).
He has held various officer positions including President (2000 - 2001) at the APPM (predecessor to P3).
has been the recipient of a number of awards, including the AJC Graphic Arts
& Paper Division Human Relations Award in 2002, the Boy Scouts of America
"Good Scout" Award in 2003, and the Power of Communications Award at the PIA Franklin Event in 2007.
David holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and a Master of Science Degree in Management from the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management.

wife, Jane, and their ten-year-old triplets, Victoria, Katherine, and Marc in Westport, Connecticut.
