David Lock (Chairman)
David Lock is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Craig Mostyn Group (CMG), a 90 year old Australian family owned agribusiness and food company headquartered in WA. CMG employs 450 people and has annual sales of $300 million. Linley Valley Pork, a division of CMG and located at its state-of-the-art processing works at Wooroloo, is Western Australia's largest fresh pork supplier and Australia's largest exporter of fresh, chilled and frozen pork products into the Singaporean market.
A Chartered Accountant, Mr Lock's previous roles include Chief Financial Officer with CMG and more than a decade in Sydney, Toronto, Canada and Birmingham UK, with one of the world's leading accountancy and business advisory firms. Mr Lock sees the challenges for WAMIA as consolidating the future of the Muchea Livestock Centre as the preferred selling facility for WA sheep and cattle producers and ensuring that WA has adequate meat processing facilities to meet the needs of livestock producers, while producing a product that meets reasonable community expectations for health, food safety and animal welfare. He sees the opportunities for WAMIA as ensuring WA's meat processing sector continues to meet world's best practice, while planning for a future that will see increasing demand for meat as a protein source within emerging economies; including the likes of India, China and Indonesia.
