DISCUSSING THE CHALLENGES: Emergency room physician Dr. Dave Crowley and clinical leader Cathy Gooding stand in front of the triage area at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.
From an emergency department doctor's perspective, Dr. Dave Crowley
says the new facility is fantastic and a very positive thing."With this top-notch facility we now have a greater ability to attract more primary caregivers to this area," said Dr. Crowley
."Physicians really look at the facility before making a decision to work there or not."The issue of privacy for both the physicians and the patients is also important to Dr. Crowley
11 other colleagues."In the old department, we didn't even have a proper place to complete paperwork after seeing four or five patients," said Dr. Crowley
."We were practically nose-to-nose with those in the waiting area." Having proper sleeping quarters and eating areas is another added bonus of the new addition."To say we were in cramped quarters before would be an understatement," said Dr. Crowley
