David Couts
Couts' book and eBook are available from Dec. 8-12.contributed David Couts 2 A native of Leeds, Ala., David Couts began his new book by telling the story of how his late brother-in-law affected his life. Couts writes of everyday experiences, many of which happened right here in Cullman County. "I think that my book is pretty revealing of the heart of Cullman County," says Couts. Primarily, Couts thinks of himself as a storyteller. "I kind of grew up meeting all of these 'real' people. They were storytellers, too, and I got to feed off of their energy," he said. "I started writing down all of their stories a few years ago when people kept suggesting that I write a book." Couts collected these stories for over 20 years. After doing extensive research, he chose to have his book published by Amazon. Formerly, David Couts worked in a millwork supply business, then was involved in other ventures after selling the millwork concern in the '90s. He has settled into writing now, doing it all in long hand. This is his second book. "Brotherhood, Ferris Wheels and Politicians" deals with everything under the sun, from dew drops to death. In his own brand of descriptive passages, Couts takes you on early morning hikes, across fields still damp with morning mist, and into his heart, as he reCouts the death of his beloved brother-in-law.
