On October 28, 2012, the Mechanicsburg Area Foundation honored long-time advisory committee founding member David B. Coover. Mr. Coover was honored for his commitment and time dedicated to both the Mechanicsburg Area Foundation and the Mechanicsburg community. Over 100 individuals joined Mr. Coover and his family at the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library for an evening of remembering and celebration. Mr. Coover was responsible for pushing the idea of a community foundation in the early 1980's and was instrumental in working with TFEC.
