David A Benko
Dr Benko is an R&D Fellow at the Goodyear Innovation Center in Akron. He received his BS in Chemistry from Union College and his PhD in Chemistry from The University of Delaware. He has a 34 year career with Goodyear in which he has developed an expertise in tire materials including elastomers and elastomeric composites. His experience includes managing R&D programs to support the development of new materials for tires, directing Goodyear's global R&D activities for material development, compound development and polymer R & D and serving as a senior member of Goodyear's technical staff. Dr Benko is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Polymer Science, and is a founding officer and former president of the Tire Society. He serves on the Advancement Council of the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron and is a member of the Ohio Polymer Strategy Council and the Ohio Bioproducts Innovation Center. He has served on the Union College Chemistry Department alumni advisory board. He holds 20 US patents.
