Consider Financial Assistance to Big Hollow Shooting Range - Dave Riley with the Des Moines County Conservation Board attended the meeting to ask the City Council to contribute to the Big Hollow Shooting Range Capitol Improvement Fund.
The Des Moines County Conservation Board is asking for a donation of $3,000. Currently the West Burlington and Burlington Police Department can use the shooting range at no charge. The Police Department uses the Big Hollow facility to practice and complete all of the firearms training requirements. Johnson asked Mr. Riley if they had sent letters asking for contributions to other agencies. Mr. Riley stated that they had sent letters to private organizations, the City of Burlington and the City of West Burlington.
