Director, Development David Borgal is the founder and director of The Bottom Line, a Boston-based non-profit organization that helps at risk students earn their college degrees. David built The Bottom Line from the ground up, from 25 students served in 1997 to more than 500 today. He has supervised every phase of the organization's growth, from developing the curriculum to training staff to raising more than $900,000 to support the organization's programs. Prior to launching The Bottom Line, David served as a financial aid advisor for the Higher Education Information Center and as a college counselor for the Satellite Academy , an alternative high school for at risk students in New York City . David has earned his Master's Degree in Education from Salem State College and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Northeastern University .

He earned his Bachelors Degree in Journalism from Northeastern University in 1993 and his Masters Degree in Education from Salem State College in 1994. Dave started Bottom Line in July 1997, and recruited the first class of 25 students in late August 1997. 21 of the 25 kids from the first class earned a college degree. He worked out of a small office in New Mission High School in Roxbury for the first three years before moving Bottom Line's operations to Jamaica Plain in September 2000. After stepping down from the Executive Director role in 2003, Dave rejoined Bottom Line in July 2004 to focus his efforts on program development.
