Darren Kay | Regional Director | Darren Kay, Cramer Property's Regional director, began his professional career at BHP, an organisation steeped with honesty and integrity, where he worked in the Finance & Planning sector for 11 years through the late 80's to late 90's. He then moved into the Real Estate industry where his negotiation and people skills, coupled with an honest and direct approach have enabled him to build up strong relationships, contacts and an extensive database of purchasers from the Illawarra, Sydney and interstate.
Darren began working for Cramer Property in 2007 and quickly took his place as the managing agent on the Links Seaside development in Wollongong. Links Seaside is an exclusive, resort-style luxury development containing $160 million worth of apartments for those over 55.
As with the majority of over-55 developments, Links Seaside is a Loan Lease agreement, a form of tenure which has been notoriously difficult to sell, especially when coupled with the emotional decision-making process required by purchasers who are often making their last move from privately owned family homes into an over-55 environment. Thanks to Darren's remarkable sales ability, he sold a record number of these apartments off-the-plan during the GFC climate, resulting in his well-earned reputation as NSW's most experienced and successful salesperson in this specialised area of project marketing. Darren also single handedly sold out The Equinox, an off-the-plan development in North Wollongong now complete, consisting of 27 luxury apartments totalling $18 million.
With a strong passion for real estate and a desire to constantly break records, Darren has also been remarkably successful in General Agency, personally listing and selling some of the South Coast's most exclusive homes and apartments. To date he has sold over 100 properties in excess of $750,000 and an amazing 39 homes in excess of $1 million in the Illawarra Region, achieving prices well beyond his clients' expectations. Darren's enthusiasm, personable nature and communication skills coupled with his thoroughness and exceptional marketing strategies have resulted in his being the region's most highly sought after agent.
When Darren's not hard at work he enjoys spending time at home with his wife Nicole, their three kids and pet Labrador. Currently residing in Wollongong, Darren is also a keen golfer with a current handicap of 5 and is a passionate follower of soccer, although perhaps not as good these days at playing it!
